Having worked in England, Italy and France, Jean-Baptiste has over 25 years experience in the Banking and Finance sectors. Previously engaged in a variety of roles with BNP Paribas and Dexia, Jean-Baptiste also worked at Crédit Agricole – Corporate and Investment Banking (CA-CIB), where he brought his cross-border structuring experience to bear whilst responsible for major accounts and structured finance. In the latter role, he was instrumental in the successful creation of Calyon’s specialist residual value guarantor.
Having joined Simon Hamilton in creating a number of investment funds and joint venture lessors, he partnered Simon in the creation of ChetWode, where his experience of complex transactions and enterprise investment has proved invaluable.
Simon boasts over 30 years experience in the leasing industry, including 12 years in continental Europe. His previous roles include VP Business Development Europe at GATX International Ltd, the world’s largest independent leasing company, where he established a multi-country leasing business and Managing Director of Lombard France, which he developed from a start up into a business with a significant portfolio of varied and complex transactions.
In 2002 he established Trans Euro Asset Management Ltd (TEAM), where he worked with Jean-Baptiste Magnen in creating a number of investment funds and joint venture lessors before together founding ChetWode. He continues to utilise his cross border lease structuring experience and wide-ranging contact base to great effect.
With 15 years experience in financial functions with large corporations (Accor, Renault, Pierre&Vacances, Belambra), Natacha Tardy has a proven track record in finance, be that on operational, organisational or strategic levels. She recently developed an expertise in high-growth companies specialised in new technologies (Telecom, IT, Web) in international environments as full time and part time CFO.
Since July 2015, Natacha has been a Managing Partner at 2CFinance. As a part time CFO, she helps companies structure their Finance function. She also punctually supports investment funds in their due diligences. Natacha is a graduate from ESCP Europe and joined ChetWode as a CFO.
Michael Diehl has over 30 years’ experience in financing mid-market companies in France. After 14 years in investment banking in London and Paris (UBS, NatWest, Kleinwort Benson…), Michael co-founded mid-market private equity firm Activa Capital in 2001.
He joined Chetwode in 2019 as Senior Advisor. Michael is a graduate of University of Geneva (sciences économiques et sociales) and has an MBA from ESCP Europe (Paris)
Peter is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years’ experience in the asset rental and leasing business. He is currently Chairman of Northbridge Industrial Services Plc, an AIM listed manufacturer of specialist electrical equipment and oil tools, with a global rental asset pool, Chairman of Atmaana Business Consulting, strategy advisors to major corporates in the provision of assets and services to public sector clients, and Chairman of the Four Winds Partnership, which provides advisory services to international clients on structured leases, asset management and logistics.
His previous experience includes being Finance Director of Lex Service Plc, the automotive leasing and distribution specialists. Today, Peter provides assistance to ChetWode as a Senior Advisor.
For more than 30 years, Christophe has developed a solid knowledge in finance and industry and puts his expertise in financial strategy to the service of his customers. With a diversified professional background , Christophe has occupied operational positions in capital markets and held cross-functional financial positions in Risk Management, Financial Management and General Management for Société Générale. He has held similar positions in the energy sector, for the CEA (Atomic Energy Commission), where he started his career, for Gazelys where he participated in the creation of a trading Joint Venture between Société Générale and Gaz de France/Engie and more recently for Novawatt where he was CFO and Deputy Managing Director.
Christophe is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and ENS (Mines de Paris).
With over 35 years appraising, buying and selling new and used equipment, Chris is a founder shareholder in ChetWode and heads up our asset valuation, monitoring and remarketing disciplines.
A qualified engineer, Chris’s former roles include Senior Equipment Manager Europe at GATX International Ltd. His responsibilities included equipment valuations, residual value negotiations and return conditions on leases of €5-150m, portfolio management including site inspection services and end of lease equipment remarketing, where he regularly achieved rates of return exceeding expectations.
Léan trained as an Industrial Auctioneer specialising in the appraisal and sale of medical equipment and moved into the leasing sector with Siemens Financial Services providing appraisals for Operating Leasing within their medical and Industrial platforms. She joined GE Capital where she was responsible for the setting of residual values, return conditions, portfolio maintenance and the remarketing/restructuring of end of lease assets within their Industrial Platform.
Léan then moved to Citigroup as an Assistant Vice President for their Industrial and Construction Operating Lease business which was subsequently acquired by Investec, again with the focus on the setting of residuals and end of lease equipment remarketing on a wide range of assets with the focus on Industrial plant. She has 15 years’ experience within this sector.
Tom, a chartered valuation surveyor, has over 35 years professional experience in the appraisal of industrial plant & equipment. Currently Tom runs his own consultancy business based in Dublin. From 1978, Tom worked for 25 years with Lisney and their Irish joint venture Lisney Henry Butcher in the valuation & disposal of industrial plant & equipment throughout Ireland, UK, Europe, India, Far East & the Americas. He joined DoveBid, one of the global leaders in the valuation and sale of industrial plant in 2002. He was European Director of Valuation Services for DoveBid until their acquisition in 2008 by GoIndustry. He has an extensive experience across a broad range of plant verticals. Since 2009, Tom has been working extensively with ChetWode as a preferred equipment valuation provider in collaboration with Chris Jewell.
Yousra joined ChetWode in June 2017 to assist with the closing of the final transactions of the PREDIREC Strategic Leasing fund, created in partnership with ACOFI Gestion, a portfolio and fund management company where Yousra enjoyed a 9-month internship as fund manager assistant. Through this experience, Yousra acquired a good working knowledge of portfolio management, sale and leaseback structuring and participated in the completion of the first financing transaction in Spain.
Yousra graduated from Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis, with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Economics and Management, and is a recent Graduate from Skema Business School, with a Master’s degree majoring in Corporate Finance. Her proficiency in Spanish is a major asset for ChetWode for its development on the Iberian market.
Stéphane’s 24 years background allowed him to develop skills in international industrial activity, corporate finance in constrained environment and management of companies due for turnaround. After 13 years of financial management at Chargeurs Wool, world leader in wool trading and combing, he joined Chargeurs Interlining, the world leader in technical interlining textile as a Chief Financial Officer, before being appointed Executive Vice-Director and finally CEO. He refocused the business and ensured advance repayment of the debt. Stéphane was one of ChetWode customers for more than 10 years.
Christine began her career as an IT project manager. A few years later, her passion for commercial negotiation and inter cultural relation, brought her to specialise in Purchasing where she was offered a position as raw material Purchasing Manager in a pharmaceutical company.
Driven by her entrepreneurial instinct, she then started a small chocolate business of her own.
In September 2016, Christine joined ChetWode to assist in the implementation of new contracts and the follow up of customer files.
Enrolled in the Corporate Finance Master course at the IESEG School of Management, Ali has joined ChetWode as part of his apprenticeship in 2018.
He previously worked as a sales assistant for Groupe Chimique Tunisien in Tunis and conducted an export sales assignment for Foies Gras Grolière in Düsseldorf. More recently, he worked as a regional compliance analyst for BNP Paribas.
Ali now assists ChetWode in the structuring of financing transactions and the origination of new business. He also participates in the administrative monitoring of the customer files.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management, Amira is enrolled in the Corporate Finance Master course at the IESEG School of Management. She joined ChetWode as part of her apprenticeship in September 2019.
With valuable multi-cultural and commercial skills, Amira is assisting the Front Office team in the origination and implementation of new transactions.
Qualified from EM Lyon business school, and after 5 year’s experience in business development for a company in the food industry, Jean-Paul joined BNP Paribas (4 years), then worked as regional manager for Eurogage, a company specialised in stock financing and guarantees for banking customers (6 years).
In 2015, Jean-Paul founded his own company, ACTENE, specialised in stock financing.
His experience makes him one of the few national experts in this field and as such, he recently sealed a partnership with ChetWode, for which he is a representative in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes / Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions.
After a first experience in a commercial bank as a financial analyst (Crédit Agricole – 2013), Maël obtained his master’s degree in banking and finance (IAE Grenoble – 2014).
In 2014, he joined Bpifrance in Paris, where he was in charge of supporting SMEs’ investment projects, working with compagnies of any sector on their business growth. In particular on real estate asset portfolios and renewable energies (wind farm, photovoltaic, heating network, biomass power plant).
In 2020, he takes up a new challenge and joins ChetWode’s Front Office.
Alex has over 30 years’ experience in setting up and managing companies in the marketing, communication, energy and finance sectors. His substantial cross border experience in financing complex projects in energy and real estate in various European countries, lead him to set up a specialised equipment leasing company in the Netherlands (Greening Energy Lease Solutions B.V.).
Having worked and lived in various European countries, Alex’ focus is on working on leasing transactions in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Alex studied political and social science at the University of Amsterdam; he holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Managment – Erasmus University (OneMBA-program).
Business development – Central Europe
Peter first worked for more than a decade at Unicredit Leasing in Munich; he then moved to Dresdner Kleinwort where he was responsible for the technology sector, successfully developing software financing with mostly US-based vendors. Following the sale of this business by Dresdner Bank to Barclays in 2004, Peter set up his own business as a consultant specialized in bespoke leasing projects, providing turn-key solutions for European SMEs.
His 20 years experience in the Leasing sector enabled him to develop a wide ranging professional network, through which he now ensures ChetWode’s business development in Central Europe.
Head of Middle Office
Before moving into the leasing and finance sector, Michael spent 17 years in the insurance industry. From 1998 he worked as Underwriting Manager in the French subsidiary of a UK insurer, responsible for the technical results of the business and new product development.
Having joined Simon, Chris and Sophie in 2004, Michael’s first role was to undertake an extensive program of due diligence on a new transaction and he continues to work closely with the customer on the ongoing management and development of the portfolio.
Mike is primarily responsible for the management of the middle-office and ChetWode’s completed transactions and joint venture leasing companies.
As a Head of Middle Office, Mike is in charge of the implementation of the new financing transactions.
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
With over 30 years professional experience in various business sectors (real estate, education, corporate services…), Mireille developed strong skills and significant knowledge in administrative management and organisation.
In 2015, driven by her efficiency and rigor, she took up new functions as a personal assistant of Simon Hamilton to support him in the management and operation of his JASOJA company.
In 2019, Mireille joigned ChetWode’s Back Office, where she was appointed Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
Communication & administration executive
Fabienne was initially a technical translator at Mc Cormack&Dodge, a US Accounting software vendor, where she met Sophie (1986- 1993). She then joined CODA in 1993 (UK Accounting software provider 1993-2003), as a Translation Manager, before being offered a position as a training consultant and then Marketing Manager.
In 2003, having completed her CODA “to-do list”, she decided to move on to new challenges as an Executive Assistant for a German real estate company (GARBE France 2003-2013).
In 2013 she joined ChetWode to reinforce our team in charge of implementing and managing new asset finance structures and help us develop our marketing strategy.
