On Tuesday 4th June 2019, the prestigious Cercle de l’Union Interalli\u00e9e<\/a> hosted the launch breakfast of\u00a0ABL2 fund<\/span>, recently created by Acofi and Chetwode and dedicated to collateralised financing.<\/p>

Advisors and lawyers gathered to discover the\u00a0<\/em>ABL2 fund<\/em><\/span>\u00a0(Asset Based Lending), as a successor to PLS fund (Predirec Leasing Strat\u00e9gique<\/a>), which invested EUR 200M in industrial assets.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ABL2 launch event at the Cercle de l’Union Interalli\u00e9e<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nicolas Fourt, Assistant Director of Acofi Gestion, and Jean-Baptiste Magnen, President of Chetwode, opened the event with a brief review of PLS’ performance, supported by St\u00e9phane Rigaut’s feedback, former Managing Director of the Interlining division of Chargeurs Group.<\/p>\n

Severely impacted by the 2009 crisis, the Interlining Division of the Chargeurs Group recorded a significant decline in turnover, followed by a loss of confidence of its historical banking partners. In 2014 and 2016, Chargeurs Interlining flagship, Laini\u00e8re de Picardie, was the first company being offered financing opportunities by the PLS (ABL1) fund, amounting to \u20ac6.5m each. St\u00e9phane Rigaut welcomed Chetwode and Acofi’s confidence and commitment to supporting Chargeurs Interlining’s increased activity, thus reinforcing its world leadership in woven interlining while anticipating the fulfillment of its bank debt repayment commitments.<\/p>\n

Nicolas Fourt then presented the main features of the\u00a0ABL2 fund<\/span>, focussing on investment criteria and the roll-out schedule. As of today, EUR70m\u20ac have been invested or committed; a second closing for the fund is scheduled for 15th June, when it will have raised EUR200M. With investments from \u20ac3m to \u20ac25m per transaction,\u00a0ABL2<\/span>\u00a0targets companies looking for financing alongside bank funding, offering high quality collateral like industrial equipment (2\/3 of the fund) and other non-industrial assets like stock, business property etc (1\/3 of the fund) .<\/p>\n

Jean-Baptiste Magnen, President of Chetwode, then focussed on industrial asset financing, highlighting Chetwode’s expertise in industrial asset valuation and the relevant eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n
