“Alternative lenders: reflections on three years of financial innovation”
The roundtable discussion moderated by Nolwenn Simon (Director of the Leasing fund at Acofi Gestion) brought together 5 speakers (Jean-Baptiste Magnen, President of ChetWode; François Drouin, Vice-President of BPI France; Stéphane Blanchoz, BNP Paribas Investment Partners; Olivier Magnin, Deloitte Conseil Finance;and Gérard Soularue, CCI Paris Ile-de-France) who took stock of the latest innovations available in the market and the public players in the field of disintermediated financing (Euro PP, debt funds, securitisation, strategic leaseback and more)
Jean-Baptiste Magnen took the opportunity to review the challenges and issues at stake in the financing of the real economy and the solutions provided by alternative sources of financing to support companies’ growth plans, namely through the Fonds de Prêts à l’Economie (“Real Economy Lending Funds”) introduced in 2013, in the light of the reform of the insurance and mutualcode. Jean-Baptiste also stressed the significant success of the 220M€ fundraising achieved by Acofi Gestion and ChetWode, dedicated to the financing of strategic industrial assets for SMEs and intermediate size companies.
